Job Title: HR Benefits Coordinator

Department: Human Resources

Reports To: Benefits Manager

Direct Reports: N/A

FLSA Classification: Exempt

Open in 2 offices: Ft Lauderdale, FL 33309 or Plano, TX 75093 (Hybrid model starting, going in on Tuesday & Wednesday but can change in the future.)

 

SUMMARY: This employee coordinates and administers a variety of benefits responsibilities including, but not limited to, administering, maintaining, and complying with Dexian benefits programs, acting as a vendor liaison, and advising employees on benefits including eligibility and coverage.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Administer all employee benefit programs. Including but not limited to Medical, Dental, Vision, Life insurance Plans, 401k, etc.

· Maintain and form relationships with various brokers, carriers, and vendors.

· Participate and lead meetings with brokers, carriers, and vendors and relay important information to leadership.

· Review eligibility, enrollments, qualified life event changes, terminations, and COBRA to ensure information is updated appropriately.

· Serve as the company's benefits expert to advise employees on eligibility, plan design, and other questions related to benefit coverage and work to resolve benefit-related issues and complaints, drawing to an appropriate reasonable conclusion.

· Works with the field HR Team to resolve issues and complaints and direct advanced issues to the appropriate location to receive a prompt and satisfactory resolution.

· Monitors and takes ownership of the Benefits Inbox and handles all issues that are emailed in.

· Resolves employee program issues and refers to Benefits Manager for escalated issues.

· Where possible, find places to reduce manual data entry and work to automate processes.

· Ensure timely and accurate transfer of employee data and enrollments among internal PeopleSoft and external benefits administration systems.

· Work with various other departments (finance, payroll, etc.) to coordinate the vendor benefit payment and to ensure the employee deductions are set up properly.

· Administer various leave benefits including FMLA, LOA, as well as short- and long-term disability.

· Conduct monthly benefit plan audits to verify proper payroll deductions and coverage is reflected accurately in the vendor system, investigating discrepancies as necessary and putting controls in place to avoid future issues.

· Stay up to date with pertinent federal and state regulations, filing, and compliance requirements including but not limited to HIPPA, ERISA, FMLA, ADA, Section 125, and Worker’s Compensation

· Ensure benefit information and documentation (i.e., SPD, SBC, etc..) are kept up to date and are made available to employees.

· Assist with the coordination of benefits initiatives for Open Enrollment.

· Assist manager with ongoing enhancements to keep benefit offerings competitive.

· Participate in the selection process and subsequent monitoring of value-added benefits for all products to assess their impact on enrollment and retention.

· Review, assign and respond to all HR inquiries submitted through the ticketing system.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

· 2 - 3+ years’ experience working in Human Resources (focus on employee benefits in a multi-state environment is a plus.)

· Knowledge of benefit-related laws and regulations, including ACA, COBRA, CARES, FMLA, HIPAA, NDT, etc. is a huge plus.

· First-hand experience working with brokers, carriers, and vendors is a huge plus.

· Ability to work with various teams and all levels of an organization.

· Experience with an HRIS system preferred (Peoplesoft)

· Bachelor’s Degree Preferred.

· Exceptional customer service, interpersonal, and written/oral communication skills.

· Strong critical thinking ability.

· Accuracy with detailed number calculations

· Excellent organizational skills

· Ability to prioritize responsibilities and multitask

· Ability to use discretion in handling confidential information
